We waste so much of our time thinking what the right price is. Whether or not if we should charge a certain price. If people will pay? Or what if they shame us, say something caustic or make fun of us? And the thing is all of that is possible. It's possible and it happens: people do make fun of us, they do try and shame based on what they think the right price should be. Or via the ridiculous comparison of the supposed “industry standard rates.”
However the truth always is: your desired price is a MF-ing number! And numbers are neutral. Numbers are not evil. Numbers are not divine. They are just symbols and figures written on a f**king piece of paper. That’s all. And we all must develop the muscle of audacity to charge it.
This episode of my podcast is for every one of those dreaded souls who struggle with the RIGHT PRICING (as if there is something called the WRONG PRICING). And find it dreadful to quote, to make a sale, to charge what their body desires.
Because, as I said, numbers are neutral. What is not neutral is the feeling this number triggers in your body. And even if all those feelings need not necessarily be trauma responses, they could very well be residues of a patriarchy based socialised mindset. For example:
- Being in the healing profession, one mustn’t charge THAT MUCH!
- It’s immoral and unethical to make people pay for their pain.
- If everyone is so expensive, how will poor people heal?
- What about integrity? Aren’t you looting people charging that kinda money?
- We are healers, not mercenaries. It’s wrong for us to chase money.
- I don’t want this to turn into a consumerist business!
- Money has karma. If you charge mindlessly, karma is gonna get you.
Done? Over? Done with the non-sense that people have fed you so far?
